Residential Service Technician

Job Summary:
The Service Technician for Weiss-Johnson Sheet metal Ltd. is responsible for trouble shooting and repairing, furnaces, air conditioning, HRV’s, humidifiers, ducting systems, thermostats, air handlers, venting, bath fans and all other aspects of HVAC in the customers home as well as new home construction sites.  The Service Technician position requires the chosen candidate to be organized and have good phone manners and have a pleasant disposition when dealing with clients, builders, service coordinators and all other Weiss-Johnson employees. There is a lot of paperwork required to be completed on a daily bases for a Service Technician. This position requires a great amount of team work, not only with other Weiss-Johnson Employees, but with the staff employed by our builders.

Qualifications:

  • Sheet Metal Journeyman (Red Seal) ticket or apprenticeship
  • Experience as a service technician (would be an asset)
  • Experience in the residential HVAC industry (would be an asset)
  • Good phone manners, penmanship, writing ability and a good grasp of the English language.
  • Class 5 (Not Graduated) Driver’s License, with current abstract.
    Ability to work on call if needed (would be an asset)
  • Knowledge of the City of Edmonton and surrounding areas (would be an asset)

Work Location:

Responsibilities:

  • Driving around the city and surrounding areas
  • Communication with Service Coordinators and other Service Technicians
  • Troubleshooting and repairing of client and builders HVAC equipment.
  • Working closely with the other Departments at Weiss-Johnson
  • Promoting company image and culture
  • Organize, Plan and Prioritizing work
  • Other Duties as assigned

Service/Scheduling Coordinator   

Job Summary:

The Service and Scheduling Coordinator in our Service and New Construction Division of Weiss-Johnson Sheet metal Ltd. is responsible for answering customer calls, understanding what the customer is asking for or what the problem might be, then scheduling the appropriate Service Technicians to go to the customers home on an agreed date to repair or assess the customers problem to repair the problem. The Service Coordinators position will also include dealing with our builders of new home construction and understanding the issues and problems they might be having in order to schedule the appropriate Service Technician to deal with the issue or problem and repair it. The chosen candidate will also be cross trained as a Service Coordinator, a New Home Construction Coordinator and a P.O. and Planning Coordinator.  The chosen candidate must have good phone manners and have a pleasant disposition. This position requires a great amount of team work, not only with other Weiss-Johnson Employees, but with the staff employed by our builders.

  • Experience with Great Plains software (would be an asset)
  • Training as a service coordinator (would be an asset)
  • Experience in the HVAC industry (would be an asset)
  • Good phone manners and a good grasp of the English language.

Plumbers

Plumbing by Weiss-Johnson is looking for apprentice and Journeymen plumbers with finishing and hot water tank install experience. We offer a full benefit program and vehicles for the right individuals!

Candidates must be responsible, hardworking and have a great attention to detail to do residential new construction installations. Valid class 5 driver’s license a must. HVAC Installers

Weiss-Johnson is always looking for experienced installers for our Retro division whose duties would include the removal of outdated furnaces, air conditioners and other HVAC equipment and replace them with our superior high efficiency line of HVAC products in residential homes. The installer would assess the site, modify, assemble, and install new furnaces and supporting HVAC systems on location. Experience in electrical, plumbing and gas fitting are required. This is a strong customer-oriented position and a successful candidate would present well and work with the homeowner to provide an overall positive company experience. We are looking for a career minded, self-motivated individual in the Greater Edmonton area.
